Our Directors & Staff

Our Directors come from a wide variety of backgrounds including church, parachurch and business world experiences. They are passionate about reaching people with the message of Christ and understand the key role that church planting plays in that process.

Dr. George Johnson, Executive Director

Passionate about church planting, George has served church planting projects in the US and internationally in the Dominican Republic, Far East Russia, the Philippines, Liberia, Mongolia and Canada. A self-described visioneer, George became the Executive Director of the CEA in 2002. He and his wife Dottie have six children and 11 grandchildren. When he isn’t working he enjoys fly-fishing, kayaking and snowshoeing.

Bruce Sanders, Director

Founding and Lead Pastor, Capital Vision Christian Church; Olympia, WA

Derek Dickinson, Director

Derek lives in Fairbanks, Alaska, where he planted Journey Christian Church in 2004. Journey is a church that is very much a part of the community, participating in events such as the State Fair, Midnight Sun Festival and Golden Days. Derek currently serves as a volunteer hospital chaplain and chaplain of the Fairbanks Chamber of Commerce.   Married to Dellie, a mental health counselor, and the father of five children—Joe, Jack, Maria, Tony and Henry – Derek has two degrees from Cincinnati Bible Seminary (one in theology and one in education) and has a passion to see a church planting movement succeed in North America.
