Our History

A VISIONARY ORGANIZATION

In 1961, 27 visionary leaders met in West Seattle Christian Church with a dream of reaching the Puget Sound area for Christ through the planting of churches patterned after the New Testament.

During the following forty years, more that 20 congregations were established with thousands coming to Christ and spiritual maturity. Numerous volunteers, directors, and church-planters served to make this growth possible. However, the exploding population outpaced the growth of churches.

While appreciating the past, the current CEA seeks to fulfill that initial vision with new methods that include new partnerships and multiplication. We seek an evangelistic thrust exceeding our population growth.

We started seven new churches during 2004 and three more in 2005. We continue to make incredible progress in developing partnerships. We have seen an increase of about 22% in giving from both individuals and churches this year. We are truly humbled by the current work God is doing through the CEA and invite you to join us in this amazing journey.
