Toney Salva
Executive Director

Toney has lived in the Northeast corner of the U.S. for the last 24 years –– 3 in Massachusetts and 20 in Pennsylvania.  A serial church planter, he planted with The Orchard Group, in Lowell, MA in the late 90’s; then moved to Cranberry Township, PA in the early 2000’s to plant another Orchard Group church.  He led that church for 16 years.

Toney and his wife Stacie live north of Seattle and have two children.  Their daughter Haley is a junior at Ozark Christian College in Joplin, MO and their son Tanner and his wife Delaney are church planters in Tokyo, Japan with the Mustard Seed Network.

Derek Dickinson
Director

Derek lives in Fairbanks, Alaska, where he planted Journey Christian Church in 2004. Journey is a church that is very much a part of the community, participating in events such as the State Fair, Midnight Sun Festival and Golden Days. Derek currently serves as a volunteer hospital chaplain and chaplain of the Fairbanks Chamber of Commerce.   Married to Dellie, a mental health counselor, and the father of five children—Joe, Jack, Maria, Tony and Henry – Derek has two degrees from Cincinnati Bible Seminary (one in theology and one in education) and has a passion to see a church planting movement succeed in North America.

Jeff Duke
Board Chairman

Jeff and his wife Kathy have lived in Snohomish for 31 years and have been involved in various leadership roles in the local church. They were a part of a CEA plant core group in the early 1990’s. They have traveled on short term mission trips to Mongolia, Nicaragua, Kenya, and India over the last 15 years. They currently lead a discipling house ministry for young adults in Snohomish.  Jeff is anxious to provide whatever resources and insight possible to encourage the efforts in church planting in the Northwest.

Mark Herwick
Director

Graduating from Northwest Christian College and Emmanuel School of Religion, Mark has been an advocate of church planting and a supporter of CEA since 1988. Recently retired from World Vision, he has previously served as pastor or associate pastor of churches in Oregon, Virginia and Washington.

Sendy Jimenez
Director

Sendy is the chair of the Board of Elders at the Filipino-American Christian Church (FACC). Prior to serving at FACC, he was an elder at Greenwood Christian Church, where he and his family served for 15 years, until 1996, when, with the help of Greenwood church and CEA, he and his leadership started the Filipino-American Christian Church. Sendy is also the present chairman of the Filipino and American Christian Convention and was a member of the continuation committee of the North American Christian Convention (NACC) from 2007 – 2010. He is an engineer by profession working for King County. Sendy is married to Connie and they have a lovely daughter Alula and son-in-law Alex.

George Johnson
Consultant

Passionate about church planting, George has served church planting projects in the US and internationally in the Dominican Republic, Far East Russia, the Philippines, Liberia, Mongolia and Canada. A self-described visioneer, George became the Executive Director of the CEA in 2002. In 2023, George stepped into a part-time role as a consultant with CEA.  He and his wife Dottie have six children and 16 grandchildren. When he isn’t working he enjoys fly-fishing, kayaking and snowshoeing.

Tim Nay
Director

Tim lives in Star, Idaho where he planted LifeSpring Christian Church in 2009.  From the beginning LifeSpring has been an integral part of the growing community of Star.  LifeSpring reaches out to the community through it’s members and also the use of their building where groups such as HOA’s, Star Park & Rec, City Council, American Red Cross, and more use the building.  It’s common to ask people how the starting coming to LifeSpring to hear them respond, “I was in here for a community event and thought I’d come check it out!”

Tim is a graduate of Ozark Christian College (BBL) and also Kentucky Christian University (MACL) and continues to lead LifeSpring as the founding pastor.  He and his wife Khristyn have been married 24 years have have three grown children and one son-in-law.   He enjoys fishing, hunting, golf, music, and telling bad puns.

Starting The Branch Church in Vancouver, WA, with her husband, Dave, in 2015, Lori is passionate about new churches.  Active in her local community, Lori is co-owner of 9 Cent Color Copies.

Dottie Johnson

Growing up in Colorado Springs, CO, Dottie has served with her husband George in both a local ministry – where they “daughtered” two new churches – and now with CEA.   In addition to her 16 grandchildren and her 6 children, she loves football and baseball and is an avid fan of the Seattle Seahawks and Mariners.
